Kindergarden 5 year old children made a Human castle. This work has been inspired by a Catalan tradition.
To make this work they've used recycling materials.
Masia Catalana - Catalan house farm
1st grade students made a Catalan building inspired on a traditional house where families used to live and grow their own food, animals,... to survive.
The materials used are: paints, polystyrene, wood, clothes, plasticine, and some toys to decorate it.
Mediterranean waves
3rd grade students created some Mediterranean waves. Inspired on the sea that surrounds our country.
The materials used are: paints and cannelloni. When cannelloni were painted, students broke them into small pieces and they stick it like Gaudi's technique.
Van roses
6th grade students made vans. They choosed the red rose, because it's a gift given between lovers the 23rd April (Saint George's Day- Books and lovers day). Vans are used in our country because on summers temperatures can hide 35º.

Traditional hats from the Black Forest.
Having a red top significates an unmarried woman, while a black top shows that the women is married.
Hermann Hesse is one of the most important authors and painters of Germany born in Calw.
Several classes interpreted poems in different ways.

The pupils combined German legendary Brezels with the German poet Hermann Hesse:
Year 5 "Starry Night in the Black Forest" (crayons & water colour)
The children took Vincent van Goghs "Starry Night" as an inspiration and put it into the Black Forest.

Year 6 art has been inspired by the City of Canterbury. Firstly, we looked at single point perspective and noted how objects appear smaller as they move futher away from you. Then we made drawings of a railway track disappearing into the horizon.
Our pictures of places around the City of Canterbury use the skill of perspective to make the scenes look 3D. What do you think?

Art from Nothern Ireland
Art from Northern Ireland was inspired by local heritage and international links. The images depict water in relation to the River Roe which flows through Limavady. The children took part in ourdoor studies and visitied the local Country Park in which the River is a key feature for observation and learning. Children also looked at images and paintings of mountain ranges in the North West area of Northern Ireland and children then created their own pieces of work, based on these images. Northern Ireland features highly on the World History scene in relation to the building of 'The Titanic' in the Harland and Wolfe docklands of Belfast. The troubles have influenced many pieces of art and architecture within the North of Ireland. The images of the silhouttes are inspired by the sculptor Maurice Harron entitled 'Hands accross the divide.'

Our art has been inspired by:
"Mollestadeika", which is Norway’s second largest tree and 1000 years old. There are many tales connected to this tree. In the old days, people believed that the tree had supernatural power and that if it was damaged, diseases and accidents could harm the farmers and their crops. Therefore the farmers always gave the tree and the spirits living underneath the tree different offerings, such as bear, milk or food. The tree and its spirits would give protection in retune.
“Teinefossen” – the waterfall in Birkeland. The river was used to transport timber just until 50 years ago.
